Year 4 Saxon Day

We were very relieved that, with some rearrangement due to COVID, our Year 4 children were still able to enjoy a Saxon workshop. There were focuses on the Saxons as both invaders – with their swords, shields and battle tactics – and as settlers, as the children built fences, learnt Saxon games and found out about how they lived and what they wore (which included dressing up Mr Miles). In class, the children are developing their writing using the dramatic story of Beowulf.
