Year 2 Squire Day

Year 2 rose to the challenge presented to them by Sir Mike of Lewes, the knight who visited them at the beginning of the term.... could they learn all about knights and acquire some of their skills in order to help him track down Princess Amelia?

On 'Squire Day', a culmination of three weeks of learning all about knights, they demonstrated skills in calligraphy, sword fighting, medieval dancing and food preparation. They learnt about shield design and proved they could behave with respect. 

They also dressed up wonderfully... big thanks to the Year 2 parents and carers!

We all really enjoyed the day, and when asked if they thought other children would enjoy Squire Day when they are in Year 2, the Year 2 children replied "Oh yes, definitely!"
