Year 1 Local Walk

Year 1 went on a walk around the local area as part of their Geography work. The children each had a map so that they could follow the route which we had discussed in class. We went down Eridge Road, along Nevill Avenue and up Nevill Road.  The children were amazing at spotting the different features on the journey including street names, road signs and buildings. They also used the compass rose to work out which direction they were travelling,  using North, South, East, West and words like left/right/near/far.  It was a fantastic opportunity to bring all our learning into the real world!
