Trip To The Rampion Visitors Centre

The children had a fantastic day in sunny Brighton. The day began with a visit to the Rampion Windfarm Visitor Centre, where children designed their own wind farms in groups. This was soon followed by an exciting chance to experience the virtual reality headsets and see what it is like to be out on the ocean near the turbines. The children learnt a range of interesting facts and then explored the visitor centre. After this, the children had lunch and having eaten headed for the West Pier Centre where they learnt all about the history of Regency Brighton and beyond! The children found out about the piers of Brighton and why the Pavilion was commissioned. Following this, they enjoyed an entertaining and amusing Punch and Judy show! They were taught about the cultural significance of this historic seaside entertainment and the slapstick context was explained clearly. Finally, the children took part in a beach clean - doing their bit to look after our costal surroundings. Whilst taking part in this, the children found items that could be recycled and used to form creations for our sensory garden back at school.
