This week, we had the privilege of welcoming Simon Gale, the Chief Executive of the charity Just Life and Emily Kenward, Founder and CEO of Time To Talk Befriending to talk to all the Juniors about what they do and how the money raised will help.
Emily talked about the importance of having a friend, they guessed the age of their oldest member (106!!) and how many people in Brighton and Hove who feel lonely most of the time (7000). Emily was moved by the way the children shared personal stories about older people in their lives and those no longer with us and also how much experience they have had with those in their 80's and 90's. Some said that because of what they heard, they would call a Grandparent or say hi and smile to an elderly neighbour as they know how much it will brighten their day.
