Combined Brass Band Concert 2026

It was wonderful to welcome Hangleton Youth Band to Aldrington on Thursday for their annual joint concert with Aldrington Brass.

Children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 kicked off the evening with a performance of 'Peace Be With You', 'The Little Brown Jug' and more. More than 20 pupils played under the tutelage and baton of Mrs Glineur who had taught and nurtured these young musicians for years.

Hangleton Youth Band then performed pieces including the 'Yellow Submarine', 'Jupiter' from Holst's Planets and music by Michael Jackson. It was so wonderful to welcome back players who had begun their brass playing at Aldrington.

Both groups then performed 'Sweet Caroline' to finish in the summer heat!

It's so valuable for younger players to see the musical and social benefits of playing in an ensemble and we are so grateful for the strong relationship we have with Hangleton Brass Band.

We can't wait for next year!
