Christmas Nativities 2020

Unable to welcome families to our Christmas nativities in person, we have filmed our productions and services for online viewing. Please see below for videos from each part of the school.

As we prepare for Christmas, please also see our special assemblies from Tim Gage, Catherine Currell and Rich Arnold at our link churches. Thank-you to all three for these inspiring assemblies, which we hope you can also enjoy at home.

To view each video, you must be logged in to our distance learning network using your child's login (___@aldrington.org). If you cannot see the video below, click through to log in. Reception

The Reception nativity has a ‘traditional feel’, as if you were watching it performed in the hall, with our older children reading the story and live piano to accompany the singing. There is a great enthusiasm for singing and actions and, as ever, the children look wonderful in their costumes!  There is a little augmented reality which those of you who are Strictly Come Dancing fans might have become used to, and you might also be able to spot a missing crown appearing…! With huge thanks to our Reception staff team including our Mrs Glineur and the film makers.

Year One: It's a Party!

Year 1 have filmed the singing and acting separately so as to be able to zoom in on the action. This means that we have managed ‘big voices’ from everyone. Mrs Goodsell and Mrs Robins have done a great job of filming this show for us.  It is so evident that the children had a wonderful time; their energy and enthusiasm radiates from the screen. I am quite sure you will not be able to stop yourself joining in with the dancing! Thank you, Hedgehogs, Squirrels and staff for sharing this familiar story with so much joy – and yes, Miss Coates was definitely awake on hearing your celebration. What a party you had!

Year Two: Manger Mouse

Year 2’s performance shows how the children’s acting skills and stage presence have progressed to the next level as they bring each scene to life. We wanted you to hear them singing to the full, so their singing was filmed in the classrooms with windows open and suitable space, as is needed for these older children.  It also gives you a chance to see what else they have been busy with this term! Thank you to the Year 2 team and especially Mrs Butters as chief photographer.

Years 3-6: Readings and Carols

We have not been able to hold the carol service as one event this year – it will only become collective worship as we watch together. Instead, Mrs Glineur did an amazing job filming all the sections in class music lessons (around the production of three nativity plays also happening in the hall!). You will see all our favourite elements: year group carols with musical accompaniment, developing as the children get older; performances from the choir and band and, of course, the familiar story from the Bible.
