Thursday 9 October 2025 Fire Engine Year 2 had an exciting visit from the fire engine this week. They eagerly examined the firefighting tools and even had a go at shooting the hose, learning about fire safety in a fun and educational way.

Monday 6 October 2025 Weald and Downland Museum Wattle & Daub building, shelter constructing and all manner of historic buildings awaited us at the Weald & Downland Museum, which Year 5 visited this week.

Thursday 2 October 2025 Carroty Wood 2025 Day 3 Year 6's final day of activities was again met with positivity and determination. Groups had great fun getting muddy at low ropes as well as rafting, abseiling and more. This evening, whilst one lodge were swimming, the other enjoyed a night walk and an evening in with games and hot chocolate! The children then had the task of packing before heading home with lots of stories tomorrow!

Tuesday 30 September 2025 Carroty Wood 2025 Day 2 Everyone is up in Hornbeam and Woodland Lodges, ready for the day ahead. Some slept better than others (including staff!) as everyone adjusted to a new place and being away from home. However, we fully expect that a busy day with lots of fresh air and activity will soon put that right!

Monday 21 July 2025 Visit from the Egyptian Coptic Church We were delighted to welcome Father John and Deacon Marcos of the Egyptian Coptic Church in Hove to lead collective worship. They spoke about Psalm 139 and also led us in prayers and singing of Psalm 150.

Monday 23 June 2025 Lifesaving Trip at the Beach Year 6 went to Brighton beach this week to learn about beach safety and how to be a lifeguard.

Thursday 19 June 2025 Withdean Athletics 2025 Aldrington proudly sent over 40 athletes to the inter-school tournament at Withdean, where the children had a fabulous time and demonstrated excellent sporting attitude, resilience, and a positive mindset throughout.

Tuesday 17 June 2025 Drusillas Trip Reception had a wonderful time on our first school trip to Drusillas! We spent time looking at the animals and took part in a special interactive workshop about minibeasts.

Music Summer School July 2025 | Create Music There are still places available and we wanted to make families aware of this opportunity. All courses are taught by experienced Create Music teachers, offering an opportunity to develop musical skills over a range of courses that all lead to a celebration performance. We also offer a bursary scheme for families on low incomes.

Tuesday 20 May 2025 Year 5 Actors of Dionysus 2025 This week, Year 5 did a performance of the start of Euripides' The Trojan Women. We were led by actors from the Actors of Dionysus who helped us experiment with different tableaux, physicality and voice work. We learned a lot about Greek theatre and enjoyed performing to Year 6. Friday 9 May 2025 Trip To The Rampion Visitors Centre The children had a fantastic day in sunny Brighton. The day began with a visit to the Rampion Windfarm Visitor Centre. After this, the children had lunch and having eaten headed for the West Pier Centre where they learnt all about the history of Regency Brighton and beyond! Then they enjoyed an entertaining and amusing Punch and Judy show and finally, the children took part in a beach clean.

Thursday 8 May 2025 Year 5 Plants and Seeds As part of their science topic on plants and seeds, Year 5 have been working to weed and replant part of our playground area. Mrs Holdway led the effort with groups of children, and everyone had a chance to clear the bank and plant. We're looking forward to seeing them grow!

Saturday 3 May 2025 Children's Parade Year 3 had a fantastic Saturday morning at the Children's Parade this Bank Holiday weekend! There was lots of waving, cheering and even some dancing. Thank you to all the support given this year, whether that was helping to make something, coming along on the day or cheering from the sides! It was lovely to see so many familiar faces wave us by.

Friday 2 May 2025 Aldrington Colour Run What a fantastic event organised and run by our incredible Parents of Aldrington. The sun shone, the tunes played, children (and teachers!!) ran, paint was everywhere, water pistols on the go....lots of smiling faces and a wonderful time had by all, the photos speak for themselves...check out the slideshow!!

Friday 25 April 2025 Year 4 Blackland Farm Trip - Day 2! We are all safe and well and enjoying breakfast and hot chocolate on a misty morning here at Blackland Farm. Last night we enjoyed a delicious dinner, some down time afterwards and then nighttime stories, riddles and singing. Everyone is now up and excited for the day ahead!

Thursday 24 April 2025 Year 4 go to Blackland Farm This morning saw the start of a new adventure as Year 4 set off for an overnight stay at Blackland Farm. Excitement was high as they gathered up their sleeping bags, pillows and other belongings ready to board the coach.

Monday 31 March 2025 Moving Monsters! In Year 3 this term we have been exploring pneumatic mechanisms in our design and technology lessons. Our design brief was to create a moving monster using this type of mechanism that worked using balloons and straws. The children loved getting creative with their monster designs!

Tuesday 25 March 2025 A Midsummer Night's Dream Dream News… Recently, Year 5 has performed an amazing classic written by William Shakespeare, and he even had a small part in this show! It was a fantastic musical, with strong characters and realistic settings. Full of Shakespearean language, banger songs and brilliant costumes, the school absolutely loved it!

Monday 24 March 2025 Collective Worship It was so wonderful to learn about the Easter message with Pastor Edson this morning. Children had the chance to learn and listen to a new language as the whole assembly was delivered in both Brazilian Portuguese and English! Some Year 4 children helped lead the prayers whilst children all learnt to sing a worship song in a different language.
