Aldrington CE Primary School

Admissions

We are a Church of England Primary School, founded on Christian principles, with a Christian ethos that underpins all that happens here. We expect that everyone who attends will be supportive of the Christian foundation of the School. However, this does not mean that all our pupils come from a Christian background, and children from all faiths, and those of none, are warmly welcome to apply.

All applications for places at Aldrington CE Primary School should be made through the Brighton & Hove School Admissions process, which can be found by following this link.  As Aldrington is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school, it is the school governors who act as the admissions authority.  This means that our governors agree the admissions arrangements and oversubscription criteria which can be found below.

Please carefully consider the oversubscription criteria in section 4.0 and additionally fill in the ‘Aldrington Supplementary Information Form’. This can be downloaded below and returned directly to the school office, or via email to admin@aldrington.brighton-hove.sch.uk.

Aldrington has 60 Reception places available each year.  The closing date for admission in September 2025 is 15 January 2025.  National Offer Day is 16 April 2025. Prior to considering an application, we invite you to visit our school.  In the autumn term, we hold open days for parents of prospective pupils to look around the school and meet senior staff and governor representatives.  We feel that the best way to experience the life of our school is to visit during the school day.

We hope that you can visit us on one of our open days:

  • Thursday 10th October 2024, 6.30 - 7.30pm
  • Tuesday 15th October 2024, 1.30 - 2.30pm
  • Thursday 17th October 2024, 9.30 - 10.30am

If you have not booked online, please notify the school office on 01273 542 656 / admin@aldrington.brighton-hove.sch.uk

If you are considering requesting delayed entry for a Summer born child, please refer to section 2.8 of the school's admission policy and also see the relevant section on the Council's website for further information and details of key dates.

Children may be admitted to other classes in the school depending on the availability of a place in the relevant year group.  If a vacancy becomes available, governors are able to offer these from our waiting list.  Please contact the school office to enquire about vacancies and to arrange a visit prior to making an application.

If you have any questions in relation to applying for a place for your child, please contact the Admissions Secretary via the school office.
